Love Live Bluebird: 1st Live Day 1

I can't believe I got to experience that for free. I was just looking forward to seeing Oyuki and Nose perform live solo for the first time, so I feel like I unintentionally disrespected them after such an incredible 3 hour concert. The choreography and staging were really thrilling, but I was impressed most of all by the performances and acting by the girls. They really managed to do something incredible with the relatively little experience they had going into this. I know I'll have to watch it many times before I can fully appreciate it. They really should be proud.

I felt rewarded as someone who has been cheering them on since the beginning. They just kept raising the excitement. Revealing the new satellite original songs in full alongside the solo songs! Changing into the uniforms and performing "REGAIN AGAIN LLLLOVE" for the first time!! Going from an audio drama to another new song with a fully animated MV and new, third costume!!!

I'll probably have way more to say once I can rewatch it, but the wait to see them in motion was so worth it and I'm overflowing with affection towards then. I can't way to fully appreciate all the details and their 3D models.

I fell in love with the costumes at first sight. The design elements feel like they shouldn't work together but they do in interesting ways. The overlapping belts. The exposed stomachs with dangling star accessories. The shoulder capes. The tail feather like ribbons. The absolutely adorable wing hair pins. Shion's wing shaped cat ears should be criminal for how much moe I feel towards Nose. I am/was considering getting 1st Live merch, but now I want to save for whatever they make in these outfits. Please, Shion and Yukuri nesoberi in these. Just take my money.

”Love” Cross Subunit Voting

I forgot to do this myself earlier in all of the excitement. It feels strange to be asked by the official to imagine myself in a self-shipping situation, but why not.

Polka: Call (she would probably misinterpret it in some airheaded/oblivious way otherwise)
Mai: SNS (undeniably her preferred method, but part of me also wants to see how someone as practical, tsundere, and holding a complex around girliness as her would react to a letter confession)
Akira: Call (or SNS, I think she’d be clueless if someone tried giving her a letter)
Hanabi: Letter (the more traditional, the better)
Miracle: Call (she’s someone who values bluntness, but I could also see her appreciating the craftsmanship in a letter)
Noriko: SNS (the least likely to give her a heart attack, but an anime fan like her would probably appreciate a letter after she recovered from the shock)
Yukuri: Letter (the most “letter” of them all, she’s a romantic at heart. I think she’d treasure it even if she didn’t return those feelings)
Aurora: Call (perhaps projection, but I feel like she’d be the kind of girl you feel at ease with and can talk about pointless things on the phone for hours at a time)
Midori: Letter (she’s a blogger and I’ve translated her LLDays blurbs, this girl appreciates a good info dump yap)
Shion: SNS (I almost chose letter because her unconditional acceptance of emotions that inconvenience society really makes me want to do the same, but there’s no reason that can’t take the form of a volatile midnight heart-to-heart on SNS. She reminds me so much of when my friends and I would vent to each other without worrying whether it’s trauma dumping.)

Letter: Yukuri, Hanabi, Midori
