Love Live Bluebird: 1st Live Day 2
Feb. 15th, 2026 05:57 pmI feel like I wasn’t able to fully appreciate it as much as Day 1 since the sleep deprivation was starting to get to me, but I’ll just have to rewatch it a lot more in the future 💪.
I got spoiled for the 2nd Live announcement already, but it was still surprisingly exciting to know their next big stage will already be in September. I already moderated my expectations compared to most people since I knew that if an anime or game had been part of the leaks, there would be no containing it. So something new, but not immediately exciting to the majority of the fanbase like a novelization and comic seems about right.
There’s been a bit of debate on whether it’s a full-on novelization or just the posts with some additional written content and illustrations. I would really love a real novel, but I think the latter is more likely. I’ve always been a bit worried about what would happen if something happened to X or their accounts, so I’m still happy as long as the tweets are archived in a (hopefully unabridged) book. Despite their mixed reception, the writing and storytelling has felt impactful in some places and I’d hate to see that become lost media (mainly thinking of Yukuri’s unfolding tragedy and mystery, but I love Shion’s vulnerability and iconic crashouts too).
Manga adaptations can already be pretty hit-or-miss (there’s so many lifeless 1-to-1 adaptations), so I’m not sure what to expect from a comic. Either way, new art is always a good thing. Maybe it can also help breathe more life into the story and setting like the MV did.
I’m really enjoying how they’ve been developing Ikizulive’s worldview even in something small like LLDays, so I hope there will be more of that, at least in the novelization. The most recent LLDays spread had a lot of parts that felt really “Ikizulive,” like moving forward even if you’re lost, absolute freedom (“you can dream, or run away. You can hope, or just get by”), dreams over ability, and deprioritizing success as a goal since even failure is important.
I still feel overwhelmed from everything that happened this week, so it’s overwhelming to think we’ll still be seeing how the school festival went in-universe and possibly what the girls will do next, as well as the special 90 minute livestream. I feel too greedy to expect much more than the usual, but I hope there’s something about the streaming release of the 4 original satellite songs. I think that got overshadowed in all the animated MV madness. Which is fair, since there’s still a part of me that wants to keep yapping about those gorgeous costumes.
